Wildflower Park, originally named Loudon Street Christian Park, was built by the hands of the Busch family. Over the years, Bill and Cathy Busch, their children Donnie, Angie, Anita and Amanda, their sons and daughter in-laws, their grandchildren and even their great grandchildren have worked diligently to build a private music park on their 55 acres of land. Located at 5639 Loudon Street Road, Johnstown, Ohio, 43031.
Purchased in 1973, immediately, Bill and Cathy had a tent revival on the corner field of their property. In the early 80′s, they had cleared enough land to build a stage and started having Gospel Sings with some of the top Christian Contemporary bands in the nation. They had weddings, benefits, reunions, graduation parties, open mics, concerts, etc. all throughout the 80′s and early 90′s. But on July 19th, 1995, the Busch family and over 1500 motorcycles brought their daughter Amanda home from the hospital after a nine month battle for her life. Diagnosed with Non-Hodgskin’s Lymphoma, septic shock, multiple organ failure…., plus given less than one percent chance to live, her family stood on the Word of God and believed for a miracle. Now, every year in July, they have a party called Celebration of Life, where they invite the community to celebrate and be thankful that miracles do exist.
In the past, they have always done benefits for people in need. But, in 2008 they started Wildflower Benefest; a benefit to bless a family for a day, filled with love from the community. It’s a day to help support a local family dealing with a serious illness, a day to show support, have fun, laugh, dance and help take their minds off what they are going through, a day to raise money and all proceeds go to that family to help with medical bills, living expenses, traveling costs, etc.
“During their battle, we want to let families know they are not alone. We hope that you all show up BIG,” from the Wildflower Park family.
